Ridgeland's Party City manager murdered in store doorway

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Ridgeland Police continue the search for the man responsible for armed robbery and murder at Party City, located at 900 E. County Line Road.

Just before 11pm Friday, police found 68-year-old Robert "Bobby" Adams of Madison lying in the rear doorway of the business. He had taken a gunshot to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a long-time employee of Party City, and most recently worked as store manager.

The business was open as usual Saturday, but employees are shaken up about the incident.

Other employees were able to provide a description of the gunman, who also grabbed cash out of the office.

The suspect is described as a black male, who Friday night was wearing dark jeans, a dark jacket, and dark tennis shoes. Witnesses say he appeared to have medium length dreadlock hair. He had a large caliber weapon and he's believed to have fled the scene in an SUV.
