Teen curfew public hearing could be set Monday

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson residents will soon be talking about a proposed teen curfew in the city.

Councilwoman and chair of the city council planning committee LaRita Cooper-Stokes says she hopes a public hearing date will be set Monday.

That's when the planning committee will meet at 3 p.m.

Stokes also says more discussion is also needed for homeless single mothers in the city.

Sunday afternoon Cooper-Stokes talked more about the agenda.

"What we have found is that there are often places for adults, but not for mothers with children. And so, that's a problem. Then we've got the curfew on the agenda. We've got some name changes that we're trying to do to streets in the city of Jackson."
