The Hospitality State is lending a helping hand to the East Coast.
Two feeding units from the Salvation Army in Jackson are ready to head to states expected to get hit by Hurricane Sandy.
The mobile kitchen is one of those units. It can serve food to up to 10,000 people daily. The other smaller mobile unit is the catering truck. The catering truck can drive to places where the mobile kitchen won't fit. It can feed about 500 people per trip.
The local American Red Cross is also helping out. Twenty-seven Red Cross volunteers and staff from Mississippi are already in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
