RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We have surveillance video of a violent crime inside Party City in Ridgeland Friday night. Sixty-eight-year-old Robert Adams, the store manager, was caught by surprise and killed during a confrontation with an intruder.

The killer knocked on the back door of the County Line Road business at closing time. A man dressed in dark clothing forced his way inside.

A struggle ensued with the manager, who tried to grab the intruder's gun and shut the door.    The manager was shot and killed.

The gunman forced the employees to take a backpack and get money from the office.

Ridgeland police are appealing for help in tracking down this robber.

"We are combing back over the evidence," said Ridgeland Police Chief Jimmy Houston. "Looking at the videos again, trying to take them frame by frame to see who this subject could be that did this terrible act. We are looking in every direction and now we need the public's help. We need to know who did this thing."

The man has medium-length dread locks, was wearing saggy pants and kept his head down the entire time.  He used a large caliber automatic pistol.

Police say the robber was in and out within seconds.

Surveillance video shows the get away vehicle. Police describe it as a light colored SUV, possibly a Chevy Trailblazer with a luggage rack on top.

If you have any information call Crimestoppers immediately or the Ridgeland Police Department.
