Save lives this Halloween by donating blood

FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The doors to the Mississippi Blood Services in Flowood are open for the Barbie Bassett and Marshall Ramsey Halloween Blood Drive.

Donating blood is very simple. It only takes about an hour of your time. You help make a direct difference in three people's lives every time you donate one pint of blood.  Donating blood is something you can do every 56 days.

Mississippi is in critical need of B- blood. There's also a severe shortage of O- blood and platelets.

All donors must be at least 17 year's old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid I.D.

WLBT's Barbie Bassett will be at the blood center throughout the day on Tuesday. Also, the Clarion Ledger cartoonist Marshall Ramsey will do his radio show live from the center on Halloween day from 3PM to 6PM.

Everyone who donates blood during the Halloween blood drive qualifies to win 43 inch TV and DVD player. The Mississippi Blood Services is located at 115 Tree Street in Flowood off of Lakeland Drive.
