CLEVELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Rodney Shelton Fulgham made his initial court appearance in Bolivar County Justice Court Tuesday morning.

MBI and the Bolivar County Sheriff's Department arrested the 23 year old on a felony vehicular homicide charge in the death of his girlfriend 20-year-old Shelby Dawson Harmon of Cleveland.

Authorities say Harmon was struck and killed as she was walking on Highway 61 near the Boyle community around 5:30 a.m. Oct. 20.

Justice Court Judge Harold Ward denied bond. Fulgham remains locked up at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility.

Harmon's family says she had argued with Fulgham before he hit her with his truck, knocking her into traffic where she was run over by two other vehicles.

Harmon's friends and family also set up a Facebook page demanding justice in the case.
