Jackson residents concerned about water leaks

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Several water leaks in Jackson have peaked the curiosity of residents.  They say one in particular, at the intersection of Ridgewood Court and the Interstate 55 frontage road, has been running for three months.

The city says that's an exaggeration. They claim recent water line repairs have occurred in the areas where the water is running.

Spokesman Chris Mimms says the city allows hydrants to bleed off brown water after repairs are done, and that it's not their policy to just let hydrants run for long periods of time.

Another hydrant at Timberlain Drive and Ridgewood road has been running for several weeks according to residents.  WLBT has learned the hydrant is broken and can't be turned off.

The leak on Ridgewood Court is coming out of the ground near a building being renovated.
