Jackson kicks off Toys for Tots

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

With the holiday season fast approaching, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation is gearing up.

Thursday morning, Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr., talked about the growing need in the community and the continued importance of organizations like Toys for Tots.

Johnson is encouraging everyone who can to get involved and spread the true holiday spirit by donating toys this year.

The foundation's goal is to give three toys to each child ages 0-15 years old.

Toys for Tots registration forms are available only at the Jackson Medical Mall. Registration requires a photo ID, Social Security Cards for children and birth certificates for children.

Families who are in need of assistance can register at the following times:

  • Monday though Thursday, Nov. 5 - Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Registration will be closed Nov. 21-23 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
