MS Children's Museum presents "Question It? Discover It!"

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Kids who visit the Mississippi Children's Museum are naturally curious. Jacob Zeitz is happy to talk with our news crew about the human skeleton exhibit.

"You pull the string, the skeleton goes up," he explains.

Science is a big part of the cutting-edge Museum, so a partnership with Children's Healthcare of Mississippi at UMC is a perfect fit. This weekend, the two will launch a new hands-on children's program called "Question It? Discover It!".

Museum President Susan Garrard announced the partnership during a gathering Friday morning.

"We're gonna explore some health-related activities. We're gonna have Fit for Fall, we're gonna explore why exercise is so important for your body," she says.

Clinical staff of all types, including doctors and nurses, will assist with the workshops, which will take place one Saturday per month from 10am-2pm at the Museum.

"It enhances our ability to reach more children, tell them about science, get them interested in science. Hopefully produce leaders in the science community," says Guy Giesecke, CEO of Children's Healthcare of Mississippi at UMC.
