JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson man shot 4 times by his girlfriends brother last Saturday called Three On Your Side. Christopher Rodgers told us he had not spoken with a Jackson police department detective even though he could identify the man who shot him.

It happened about 4:30 at a home on Bloom Street November 3.

Friday the shooting victim's girlfriend said she saw her brother shot Christopher Rodgers in the legs. She wanted to know why police had not made an arrest 6 days after the crime. We spoke with JPD officials who said they were working to secure a warrant for 29 year old Derrick Epps.

We asked Epps why her brother needed to be off the streets. Her reply, "Because I don't want to see nobody do anything to him he at that stage where somebody gonna kill him. Before I see someone kill him, I want him of the streets. He's my brother and I love him but right is right and wrong is wrong."

She also told us a police detective took her to a cousins home on Meadowview Friday afternoon where her brother is known to stay. He was not there. The shooting victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
