JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Armed thieves tie up a Jackson business owner then fire on officers after fleeing with the man's vehicle.

J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green said around 9:15 Friday night police responded to Gordon's Urban Wear in the 1400 block of Ellis Avenue, in the Southport Mall Shopping Center.

According to investigators, the unnamed business owner was restrained while thieves stole items from the clothing store then took off in his black Lincoln Navigator.

Officers then spotted the three suspects nearby.

Green said rounds were fired at an officer before the three were taken into custody.

Their names were not released Saturday.

The suspects are charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, armed robbery of a business, auto theft, resisting arrest and fleeing the scene.

Additional charges are pending.
