OXFORD, MS -
(WMC-TV) - Ole Miss is responding to the calls for justice from a Mid-South mother whose son has been the victim of a racial attack on the Ole Miss campus.
Mary Woods says the attacks against her son, Jamal, who is a freshman at Ole Miss, started back in August when someone wrote racial slurs on his dorm room door.
On November 5, police woke Jamal Woods up to let him know that his truck had been vandalized.
The letters KKK were scratched into the truck's hood along with the words ‘Go home'.
"He's already scared so he packs everything up and comes home every weekend and goes back on Sunday," said Jamal's mother, Mary Woods. "I am so angry. I am so angry you know and like I said this just affects everything."
Woods says her son fears for his life.
Now, she has contacted Reverend Dwight Montgomery with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Rainbow Push.
They are offering a $1,000 reward for information in this case.
Mary Woods says her son is making plans to leave Ole Miss.
Ole Miss released a statement Wednesday. Here is a portion of what they had to say:
"The University of Mississippi Police Department has been investigating for more than two months a series of events involving racial slurs and vandalism targeting Jamal Woods."
