Pollutants might interfere with conception

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Couples exposed to high levels of environmental pollutants may have difficulty conceiving a baby.

Researchers say P-C-B's and chemicals used in coolants and pesticides are in the soil, water and our food supply.

Their data revealed a woman's odds of pregnancy declined 18 to 21 percent for each increased level of chemical concentration in the blood.

Fertility also decreased for couples in which men were highly exposed to certain types of these chemicals.
