According to information released from U.S. Census Bureau’s 2011 American Community Survey, of the 100 largest cities in the country, Oakland, Calif., is seventh in the nation by percentage of people that choose to commute by bike. According to information from the U.S. Census Bureau, Oakland has experienced more than a 200% increase in commuter cycling since 2000 with one of the largest growth periods occurring in 2011, moving it into the top 10 commuter bike cities for the first time.
