FRANKLIN, NC (AP) -

A Macon County man has been arrested and charged with killing his son.

Fifty-two-year-old Ricky Fouts was arrested Tuesday evening. Sheriff's deputies accuse Fouts of shooting his son after getting into an argument.

Sheriff Robert Holland says 30-year-old Levi Fouts was shot in the stomach and died at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Holland said detectives were still investigating and he cannot say what sparked the argument. He says officers are still interviewing a number of people who were in the home at the time.

Ricky Fouts is charged with second-degree murder. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
