8 families displaced after apartment fire

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked a south Jackson apartment fire.

It happened at Southside Terrace Apartments on Saturday afternoon.

Most of Building B was completely destroyed.

According to the Red Cross' Twitter page, eight families needed assistance after the blaze.

Witnesses say they saw flames on the balcony of an apartment before the fire spread.

Assistant Jackson Fire Chief R.D. Simpson says the cause and origin of the blaze remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
