Getaway vehicle used in Party City murder believed found

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Ridgeland Police have recovered the vehicle they believe was used in the Party City murder from October. The white Chevy Trailblazer was found abandoned at a Jackson apartment complex.

The car is believed to have been driven by the gunman who shot and killed the store owner, Robert Adams, on October 26th during a robbery.

"This care was reported stolen to Jackson Police the day before the murder at Party City," says Lieutenant John Neal of the Ridgeland Police department.

Distinct features on the vehicle like decals on the back window, and a non-matching front fender set the vehicle apart, which helped investigators identify it.

The vehicle has been processed for evidence. Investigators are hoping someone recognizes the vehicle to aid in finding the murder suspect.

Neal says, "The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was called in.  They're assisting us in the investigation with the vehicle.  They examined it for any kind of forensic evidence.  Were in the process now of getting that evidence submitted to the crime lab."

Surveillance video of the crime is also being submitted for a forensic lab in Tennessee, in hopes of enhancing the images.

A $3,500.00 reward is being offered for information.  Anyone with information is asked  to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-8477.
