AUBURN – The Auburn Tigers held a Thanksgiving morning
workout in shorts at the Auburn Athletics Complex Practice Fields, wrapping up
preparations for Saturday's Iron Bowl at Alabama before dismissing for family
dinners Thursday afternoon. The Tigers will leave Friday afternoon for the Iron
Bowl contest.
"It's a very unique game, so I think that there's an extra
focus and an extra intent in terms of just being ready to prepare. Our
team looks at this game differently," said Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. "We
don't take that lightly. We feel a great sense of responsibility because
of so many people that will be affected by this game around the state come
Sunday morning. "
This is the 77th renewal of the Iron Bowl rivalry; the game
will be televised by CBS with a 2:30 CT kickoff. The Iron Bowl will also be the
final collegiate game for 13 Auburn seniors: Daren Bates, T'Sharvan Bell,
DeAngelo Benton, Emory Blake, Jonathan Evans, Philip Lutzenkirchen, Onterio
McCalebb, Ikeem Means, Anthony Morgan, Ashton Richardson, Travante Stallworth,
John Sullen and Jamar Travis. They come into the contest with a career record
of 33-18.
