TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

You may have been one of the millions of people out shopping on Black Friday, excited to find big bargains at the stores of big national retailers.

But small, local business owners are looking forward to a different day -- Small Business Saturday.

"Today is a workday for us," says Michelle Davis, co-owner of "Cute As A Bug" boutique consignment shop in Texarkana. Like other small business owners, Davis is not excited about Black Friday.

"I think it hurts the small businesses quite a bit, so everybody is out shopping the big shops and looking for the big deals."

Davis says she kept her shop's doors closed Friday to do maintenance and other projects around the shop in preparation for the holidays.

Robert Davis, husband of Michelle, says, "It is so slow that we have time to come in and rearrange a few things and put in some window displays to try and attract people to our small business."

The Davis' say they look forward to Small Business Saturday.

"It is a good day for us, and I think it is a good day for all us small business owners. It kind of reminds everybody we are out there supporting your community, so it is nice for them to come in and support us."
