A Coast-to-Coast National Footprint
Leawood, KS (PRWEB) November 25, 2012
Leading organic and biological fertilizer distributors have signed pre-commitments for BioStar’s N2PK Fertilizer products.
These established companies have all agreed to distribute the fertilizer products from BioStar’s first poultry manure anaerobic digester project in Knob Noster, MO.
The Knob Noster facility will convert 60,000 tons of poultry waste per year into 11 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 12,000 tons of high nutrient organic fertilizer. The BioStar process also generates clean water as a by-product.
Branded N²PK, BioStar fertilizer is listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) as “allowed” and is unrestricted its use in the production of food for human consumption. BioStar’s N²PK SuperSix liquid fertilizer contains more than twice the amount of fast-acting plant available nitrogen than any other fertilizer in the organic food production industry. This will allow the organic food industry a competing product used in conventional agriculture.
“Midwestern BioAg is excited to enter into this venture with BioStar. The BioStar technology offers tremendous potential for supplying organic agriculture with quality fertilizers,” says Daniel Smith, CEO, Midwestern BioAg.

BioStar Systems, LLC is a waste-to-energy company focused on improving the management of livestock manure. The Company partners with farmers who face continuously increasing regulatory pressure related to the management, disposal and land application of their manure. The Company utilizes anaerobic digestion, a process that operates similarly to the human stomach and digestive system, where naturally occurring bacteria work in an oxygen-free environment and convert organic feedstock to biogas and residual solids. BioStar’s biogas is used to generate electricity or used as transportation fuel. Heat recovered from the electrical generation is used to dry residual solids to produce granulated organic fertilizer; and the nutrient-rich liquid effluent is concentrated to produce high-value liquid organic fertilizers.
