Governor Phil Bryant has set a special election date for the House seat vacated by former representative, Kevin McGee.
Voters will head to the polls January 8th to fill the seat for Mississippi House District 59 in Rankin County.
McGee, a republican, resigned November 19th and agreed to pay a $10,000 fine to resolve an ethics case against him over public contracts that went to his family's Flowood printing company.
