Early morning chill is having a double effect this morning, slowing traffic down in two different ways. Early frost on the cars is the first slow up, temps started in the upper 20s. Secondly, we have reports of fog in several areas, especially in northern Mississippi where visibility is dropping to 3 miles or below.
Expect sunshine for today and a high of 60 degrees, winds north at 5-10 mph.
Tonight the hard freezing temps will be back in full effect, with temps dropping drastically once again.
Under mainly clear skies will see the temps dropping back to the lower 30s to upper 20s. The winds will stay light from the north at 5 mph.
Thursday we start off a bit frosty and foggy once again statewide. The twist for Thursday will be a surge of warm air that will kick in during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Highs will be in the mid 60s, but higher temps expected going into the weekend. Winds will begin to shift south by Friday to accompany the warmer air.
