JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Residents on Brookley street in south Jackson say they have repeatedly been burglarized by a group of juveniles.
The latest burglary happened Tuesday. The perpetrator was found in the home by the victim.
"I had just bought the Playstation 3 bundle pack. I had bought 6-7 games. It's upsetting and it's very devastating when they take everything. They even picked up my medicine," Sheritta McCaskill said.
Residents say a 17 year old was arrested after the latest crime, but they don't believe he will face the proper punishment.
Lisa Chancellor whose home was burglarized Tuesday says, "Once they pick them up they'll say they are a juvenile and they'll lock them up but they will be right back out."
Victims say they want more parents to be responsible for their children if they're committing crimes.
"I want to know why these parents are not getting in trouble for these 17, 13, 12-year-old kids walking the street in the daytime. You see them everywhere and they don't go to school," McCaskill said.
Jackson police have several burglary suppression operations going on throughout the city, but could not comment further on crime in the Brookley area.
