Abandoned dog's story has a happy ending

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A concerned citizen contacted '3 on Your Side' about an abandoned dog in southwest Jackson.  The animal has been chained to a mobile home at a trailer park for months, and folks there have giving the dog food and water to keep it alive.

Buddy is a friendly, affectionate collie mix dog.

Twenty-eight-year-old year old Stacy Thurman emailed us about Buddy.

"I cry about it. I feed it every day and come back every night," said Thurman. "I come over here and make sure it is still there."

There is a notice on the door of the abandoned trailer, where buddy's owner lived, saying that if something isn't done with the dog in 24 hours, it will be picked up by the Jackson dog pound, and a citation will be issued to the owner. It was dated November 27th.

Buddy's story does have a happy ending. He wound up at Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, or CARA  Unfortunately he is the last dog they can adopt this year. They are full.
