A Pearl couple with 7 children has been paying on a mobile home for 6 years to replace the one that's literally falling in around them. It's been deemed uninhabitable by the city of Pearl.
Neighbors all around have signed a petition asking the city to allow the family to put their doublewide in, but the city says no because of a new zoning restriction.
Now, Mayor Brad Rogers has been raked over the coals by citizens there who think he is completely heartless, particularly this time of the year.
From heartless to heartwarming; last week the manager of the Tire Depot on Old Fannin Road posted a wonderful note about some good Samaritans who stopped to help a mother with a flat tire.
They found the spare also flat. The end result was several strangers pitched in and bought her a whole new set of tires along with the tire store changing her oil.
Numerous folks who saw the story were deeply touched by all these acts of kindness. As some folks said, there are angels out there.
