Crimestoppers tip leads to arrest of auto burglary suspect

BYRAM, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Byram Police have made an arrest in a string of burglaries in the Lake Ridgelea neighborhood. Acting on a Crimestoppers tip Wednesday, 22-year-old Louie Walters was taken into custody. He's charged with multiple counts of auto burglary.

A dozen burglaries occurred on Lake Shore Drive and South Ridge Road on November 25th.

Police say some of the property has been recovered but a gun is still missing.

Police Chief Luke Thompson says if someone knows where it is and returns it, they will not be charged.

Walters has a Lake Ridgelea address. He's being held at the Raymond detention center.
