HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Police at The University of Southern Mississippi changed the charges against a student and quarterback for the university football team on Thursday.

Police dropped the aggravated assault charges against Anthony Alford and charged him with conspiracy to possess a weapon on school property instead as well as hindering prosecution.

A second suspect, Korey Hathorn of Sumrall, is still charged with possession of a firearm on school property by a student.

The two are among four people allegedly involved in an altercation near the Walker Science Building Wednesday morning on the Hattiesburg campus.

University police are still looking for two non-students involved in the fight. Sources say one of the two is Alford's brother, Jasper Brown.

Officials suspended Alford and Hathorn from school pending a student judicial hearing.
