The Holiday Express rolled into Richland Thursday night. This is the 12th year the Kansas City Southern Railroad Line has sponsored the Holiday Express.
With an engine called "Rudy" the Express began its journey the day after Thanksgiving. Hundreds of people, the young and young at heart, lined up to see the train. Children can walk through four cars that include model train displays, and Santa's workshop.
The crew supports the Salvation Army in each city where they make a stop.
"We receive donations all year round and we take those donations and then based on the city's population that we're doing a show in, we give out gift cards to the Salvation Army who presents those gift cards to needy families", said Grant Elliott Head Elf for Kansas City Southern Railroad.
The Holiday Express will make 26 stops in 24 different towns through December 16th. The next stop in Mississippi is scheduled for Friday in Meridian.
