Fresh From the Flame - Wine Balsamic Glazed Steak

Wine-Balsamic Glazed Steak 


- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 pound top sirloin steak cut into ¾ inch thick strips
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 3/4 cup dry red wine
- 2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon good quality balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons honey
- 2 tablespoons butter


In a large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat until very hot.

Add steak and Reduce heat to medium and cook for 6 to 8 minutes or to desired doneness, Turning meat occasionally.

Transfer meat to a platter and keep warm.

Add garlic and red pepper to skillet and cook for 10 seconds.

Carefully add wine and bring to a boil uncovered about 5 minutes or until most of the liquid is reduced by 1/2.

Add mushrooms, vinegar, soy sauce, and honey and reduce to a simmer.

Cook until mushrooms are tender.

Stir in butter until melted and spoon over the steak.
