FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

High school artwork is making a beautiful difference inside of a place most people don't like to go. International Baccalaureate students from Jim Hill high school presented sixty decorated  breast cancer awareness pillow cases to the CEO and staff at Woman's Hospital in Flowood.

The pillow cases are painted with inspiring words like hope, survive, courage and joy. The ninth and tenth graders created the pillow cases after completing a project on breast cancer in their art class.

"We're happy that we were able to make pillow cases because we want to let the patients know that just because they've been diagnosed with this disease doesn't mean the end has come its not a death sentence and they can conquer it," said 10th grade student, Shikinah Washington.

Woman's Hospital CEO Sherry Pitts said, "we'll give them {the pillows} to our patients here that register and have surgery here at Woman's Hospital and they'll cherish them as they go home.

Jim Hill art teacher Felicia Reese came up with the creative pillow case idea. It was part of the student's health and social education service project.
