JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hundreds of people piled into downtown Jackson for the annual holiday parade, formally known as the annual Christmas parade.

The crowd and participants started forming downtown much earlier than the noon start time. The theme of this year's parade was "Celebrating the Capital City with Holiday Spirit and Cheers."

As always, the decorative floats and parade participants energized the crowd. More than 40 floats and 125 groups took part in this year's parade route.
