JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson teenager has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of his aunt early Wednesday morning.

Jackson Police Department officials say 67-year-old Odessa McGee was killed in her house at 345 James Garfield Circle in the Presidential Hills neighborhood in northwest Jackson. Officers were called to the residence just before 1 a.m.

McGee's nephew by adoption, 16-year-old Jermaine Wilson, was denied bond during his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Family members said McGee was sexually assaulted and hit in the back of the head.

Officials have not commented on the motive for this killing.
