HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A former Rankin County School District band director was sentenced to six months in jail with three months suspended after pleading no contest to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Ben Tuberville, 31, appeared in court in Clinton Wednesday afternoon. He was also ordered to pay $500 plus court costs.
Tuberville was arrested in August after being accused of having inappropriate communication with a minor in Clinton.
He was fired after the Rankin County School District learned of the allegations.
Authorities said in late July, Tuberville used a voice messaging program called Voxer to talk to a 15 year old.
