The Salvation Army's Captain Ken Chapman said gifts for older children are what they need most now.
MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The countdown is in full-swing to help the Salvation Army and US 96.3 Country Radio "Stuff the Semi."
The 18-wheeler is parked outside of the WalMart in Madison until 8 p.m. Thursday. The "Stuff the Semi" campaign is an effort to stuff the truck full with toys, clothes and school supplies for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree children.
The Salvation Army's Captain Ken Chapman said gifts for older children are what they need most now.
"We have the hardest time getting the ten to twelve year olds filled, clothes is basically what they need most and then you know some school supplies, maybe an MP3 player, some kind of inexpensive electronic game, that might help them," suggests Captain Chapman.
On Friday, the "Stuff the Semi" truck will be parked in the Pearl WalMart parking lot from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Also, Angel Tree Children still need to be adopted. You can pick up materials at the Salvation Army, North park Mall, Gray Daniels dealerships, Citizens National Banks, Fitness Lady and Highland Village.
You can also go online to the Salvation Army's website for additional information.
