Johnny Football takes home award for best quarterback

Johnny Manziel has taken home the award for the nation's best quarterback for the 2012 NCAA season.

Thursday evening, the announcement was made that Manziel won the Davey O'Brien Award, coming off a season where "Johnny Football" threw for over 3,400 yards and 24 touchdowns. He is the first freshman to win the O'Brien Award. 

Manziel has been the at the top of the college football Heisman discussion over the past few weeks.

The winner of the 2012 Heisman Trophy will be announced on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
