MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

St. Andrews and Germantown High School will be in a school spirit showdown highlighting their most unique programs and academic curriculum.

St. Andrews, a private Episcopal school located in Ridgeland, hosts grades 5-12 at their north campus, and on Dec. 10 the Fox40 crews will be there with cameras rolling. Starting at the performing arts building at 7:30 a.m., the Winter Choir will perform and we'll talk to a few award-winning teachers.

Then just two days later on Dec. 12, we will be at Germantown High School, a public school, to feature their Marine ROTC program, which is the only of its kind in the state. Also, the principal will be talking about the HAT program, Home Attendance Tardy, which rewards students for attending school on time, and turning in homework. In the HAT program, the principal and other faculty walk around with prizes for students. We'll highlight that new program and learn how successful it has become.
