CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A helicopter nurse was injured Saturday afternoon on the Natchez Trace when his motorcycle hit a deer.
Trace Ranger Rachel Davidson, identified the rider as 40-year-old Daniel Turner of Brandon.
Investigators say around 4:45 p.m. Turner and another biker were heading north on the Trace near I-20 in Clinton.
The two were coming from Natchez when a deer crossed the roadway causing the accident.
Davidson says Turner is in serious condition and suffered a head injury as well as broken ribs.
Turner was transported to University Medical Center where he works as a helicopter nurse.
Investigators say speed was not a factor. No other injuries were reported.
