LOWNDES COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Columbus woman has been sentenced to 10 years for embezzling nearly half a million dollars from her employer.
Bernice Lile, 62, was sentenced in a Lowndes County Circuit this week by Judge Lee Coleman.
Lile embezzled more than $474,000 from Gordman Insurance between January 2010 and September 2011.
Lile was also head of the Lowndes County E-911 Board at the time of her arrest. She later resigned.
