Big shopping weekend

Posted: Updated:
FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

With only two weekends left before Christmas, retailers and shoppers are in high gear to ring up those last minute sales.

Customers in Flowood carried a number of shopping bags out the doors in search of the perfect present.

Retailers started sales promotions earlier this year. The National Retail Federation predicts holiday shopping sales will increase 4.1% this year or about $586 billion.

Some shoppers believe they are finding better deals closer to Christmas and it's easier to shop.

"Now you can find more as opposed to Black Friday, you know, everybody is fighting over everything. So, you can shop easier, more freewill. You can just have more time to look and really find good bargains," said shopper Jacqueline Woods.
