Todd Monken named head football coach at USM

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The University of Southern Mississippi announced Tuesday Oklahoma State University offensive coordinator Todd Monken will be the school's new head football coach.

Monken is the third coach USM has hired from Oklahoma State. Former USM head coaches Larry Fedora and Jeff Bower both served as offensive coordinators at Oklahoma state.

USM fired head coach Ellis Johnson after one winless season Nov. 27.
