JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The Salvation Army wants 12,000 people to donate $12 to its red kettle buckets Wednesday.
So far, the organization has collected half of its $750,000 goal.
The Salvation Army's Capt. Ken Chapman said they can reach that amount if the 12-12-12 campaign is successful on Wednesday.
"That'll be $144,000 today and with the money we'll raise between now and Christmas Eve we'll make that $750,000," Chapman said.
The Salvation Army is also still collecting gifts for Angel Tree children and senior citizens. The deadline to donate is Saturday.
