JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Jackson police are searching for two burglary suspects who exchanged fire with police in northwest Jackson.
Assistant Police Chief Lee Vance said officers responded to a burglary in progress call in the 6000 block of Abraham Lincoln Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Vance said officers exchanged fire with two black males. The suspects then fled the scene.
Officers and canine units are searching the area, and a perimeter has been set up.
Police believe one of the suspects is injured.
JPD has a command center shining lights on Presidential Hills Park to assist with the search.
