BROOKHAVEN, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Police have arrested two Brookhaven brothers in the Christmas Eve murder of a Hattiesburg man.

The Hattiesburg Police Department arrested Chance Nicholas Smith, 19, and 21-year-old Semmie James Smith, both of Brookhaven. The brothers are each charged with one count of murder.

Police arrested Chance Smith on Christmas night in connection with the shooting that killed Elester Sartin, 22, at the Pineview Apartment Complex on Country Club road in Forrest County.

Sartin was announced dead on arrival at Forrest General Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds.

Police say they know no motive for the shooting, and neither the victim nor the suspects lived at the apartment complex.
