JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The FDA has sent a warning letter to more than three hundred doctors about a bad batch of botox.
The FDA letter says any botox product provided by a Canadian pharmacy, called Canada Drugs, is unapproved and they can't be sure it is safe and effective.
They say the medication may be counterfeit, and was not manufactured in the proper way.
This is not the first time the FDA has issued a warning about this company.
Earlier this year the agency ordered operators of more than four thousand websites to stop selling unapproved drugs to U-S consumers.
A majority of those sites were operated by Canada drugs.
The letter was sent to doctors offices that had received medication from Canada drugs.
Officials say botox is made by Allergan incorporated, and doctors should only get botox from licensed U-S pharmacies.
