One person injured in 4 vehicle accident on I-220

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating a chain reaction crash that sent one person to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

JPD Officer Colendula Green says the accident happened sometime before 2:30 p.m. on I-220 near Highway 80.

One unidentified man suffered severe injuries in the four vehicle wreck.

The crash involved an 18 wheeler, an SUV and two cars.

Investigators say a man was conducting a funeral escort and trying to get a vehicle to stop on the highway when the chain reaction crash occurred.

No other injuries were reported.
