Long time Hinds County District 2 Supervisor Doug Anderson has reportedly rescinded his resignation just two weeks after his daughter announced his retirement. One day before his resignation was to take effect, Anderson has seemingly changed his mind.

Phil Fisher, Hinds County District 4 Supervisor, confirms that he has received notification from other county supervisors that Anderson has rescinded his resignation, although he has not spoken with Anderson directly.

Anderson's daughter, Jackie Anderson Woods, announced his retirement at a Dec. 13 news conference. His retirement will be effective Jan. 1, she stated. Anderson was not at the press conference.

Woods added that after 19 years in the county post, her father's retirement was due to health concerns. She also stated she suggested retirement to her father as a way to focus on his health, but insists he was stepping down on his own terms.
