U.S. Senate starts New Year at cliff's edge

Happy New Year and good Tuesday morning from WLBT's Brandon Artiles!

As Paul Williams mentioned yesterday, the first day of 2013 was going to be a wet one. The raining is falling and it's 55 degrees. Paul will let us know when there will be a break in the rain clouds in his First Alert Forecast.

And as the country celebrated, U.S. Senators voted on a bill that would avert the fiscal cliff. It's not a done deal as the ball is now in the House's court and we'll bring you that story at the top of the hour.

Plus, a Hinds County supervisor does a New Year's Eve about-face, rescinding his resignation from the board one day before it went into effect.

All those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7, and for more local news you can watch Fox 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Tuesday and we wish you an awesome 2013!
