HOLMES COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

After an inmate escaped last week from the custody of the Lexington Police Department, detectives are asking for the public's help in locating the wanted man.

The Lexington Police Department and Holmes County Sheriff's Office are looking for Antywon Terry. Lexington Police Chief Martin Roby describes Terry as a black male, approximately 6' tall, weighing 160 lbs.

Terry is believed to be driving a black, two-door Pontiac Grand Am with the personalized license plate DIVO. Chief Roby says the inmate escaped from custody of the Lexington Police Department on Dec. 27, after being charged with DUI, no proof of insurance, no driver's license and a bench warrant for old fines.

After escaping custody, Terry reportedly went to the impound yard later that night where he took his vehicle that had been impounded earlier in the evening. Terry now has additional charges of escape and auto theft.

Anyone with information related to Terry's whereabouts is asked to call the Holmes County Sheriff's Office at (662) 834-1511.
