Simpson County man shot in domestic argument

SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Simpson County man, who was under an order to have no contact with his estranged wife, was found dead in her home Thursday night.

Thirty-seven-year-old Charles Kelly had gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies received a 911 call around 8:30 Thursday night from 562 Gum Springs Road, in Braxton.

Initial reports said that a woman was fighting with a man with a gun, and the gun had gone off.

Simpson County Sheriff Kenneth Lewis says the shooting occurred as a result of a domestic violence situation between Kelly and his wife Faith.

Lewis says the investigation is on going pending results from an autopsy.
