Major traffic artery set to open next month

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A new roadway set to open by the end of February will provide a vital new north-south artery through Rankin County between highways 471 and 475.

The $16.2 million Metro East Parkway will start in Flowood where Old Fannin Road ends at Highway 25 and go south all the way down to Eldorado Road into Pearl.

The parkway runs along the east side of the Jackson Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport.

Another major roadway in Rankin County will soon be complete where Highway 475 goes over Old Brandon Road just south of the airport.
